Stamford Bridge

Stamford Bridge guide

Stamford Bridge, on the Fulham Road in west London, has been Chelsea's home since the club was founded and holds around 40,000. It is built from four separate stands rather than a single bowl, with the corners partly filled, which gives it a more traditional and compact feel than the newer grounds in the city.

The East and West Stands run along the touchlines. Their upper tiers are the best seats for seeing the whole pitch, while the lower tiers put you close to play. The Matthew Harding Stand and the Shed End are behind the goals, and the Matthew Harding lower tier is where the loudest home support usually gathers. Visiting fans are housed in the Shed End.

Because the stands are close to the pitch and the roofs are relatively low, some rear rows in the lower tiers have a restricted view of the high ball. If the full view matters, choose the upper tiers along the sides.

The nearest Underground station is Fulham Broadway on the District line, a few minutes' walk from the ground. West Brompton and Imperial Wharf are alternatives that are usually less crowded after the match. Parking near the ground is very limited and the surrounding streets are restricted on matchdays. PickStub is an independent marketplace and is not affiliated with the stadium or any club that plays there.
