Privacy policy
This Privacy Policy sets out the privacy practices of Ticketero LLC, the operator of pickstub.com (the “site”), and explains what we collect when you use the site, why, and the choices you have. Ticketero LLC (“PickStub”, “we” or “us”) is the controller of the personal data described here, and we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy is part of our Terms of service, and by accessing or using the site you agree to be bound by it. We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time; changes become effective on notice, which may be given by email to registered users or by publishing the modified policy on the site, and your continued use of the site after such changes constitutes acceptance of them. You can reach us at [email protected].
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you create an account or complete a purchase, we collect:
- Account: your name, email address and a password, which we store hashed and never in plain text.
- Checkout: your first name, last name, email address and phone number for every order.
- Attendee details: when an event requires them, the full name, birth date, passport number, nationality and city of birth of each attendee, which we share with our ticket inventory provider to issue your tickets.
- Payment: your purchase is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we keep only the Stripe customer and transaction identifiers linked to your order.
- Order history: the events, seats, quantities and totals of your past orders, linked to your account.
- Price alerts: your email address, if you choose to set a price alert for an event.
Information collected automatically. Like most sites, our servers log basic technical data: the pages and searches you request, your browser and device type, and your Internet Protocol (IP) address. An IP address is a number automatically assigned to your device when you browse the web that allows servers to route information; on its own it does not identify a specific individual. We also use a small number of providers that collect technical data on our behalf:
- Microsoft Clarity: an analytics service that measures how the site is used and records how pages are viewed and interacted with, including mouse movement, scrolling and clicks. It sets its own cookies in your browser. Because this needs your prior consent in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we do not load it at all for visitors in those countries. Microsoft uses the data it collects under its own privacy statement.
- Sentry: an error-monitoring service that receives a technical report when something breaks on the site. A report can include the page you were on, your IP address and, if you are signed in, your account identifier. It sets no cookies.
- Cloudflare: serves the site and filters malicious traffic. It processes your IP address and request data for security and performance, and tells us the country your request came from.
We do not use advertising networks, and we do not track you across other websites for advertising purposes.
Age and children
Our services are not directed to anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a person under 18 has provided personal information, we will delete it in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. You may review the website of the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov for more information. Pursuant to 47 U.S.C. Section 230(d), we notify you that parental control protections are commercially available that may help you limit access to material that is harmful to minors.
How we use your information
- To run the marketplace and show relevant events, prices and inventory.
- To process your orders, deliver your tickets, and provide customer service.
- To send the price alerts you specifically asked for, and administrative notices about your orders.
- To keep the site secure, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and improve our catalog and services.
- To comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell or trade your personal information. We share it only as described here:
- Service providers: providers that process data on our behalf under contract, namely Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (email delivery), Cloudflare (hosting and security), Sentry (error monitoring), Microsoft Clarity (analytics, outside the countries listed above) and Google (only if you choose to sign in with your Google account). Your payment information is provided to our payment processor to confirm payment, and, when required by the event, we share attendee details with our ticket inventory provider so your tickets can be issued. The use of your information by these providers is governed by their own privacy policies.
- Legal: authorities where we are required by law, including on receipt of a court order or subpoena or when cooperating with a legal investigation, and in connection with a business transfer.
- Aggregated data: we may share aggregated, non-personal information about traffic and usage with third parties; these statistics never include personal information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Updating and correcting information
You may access and edit the personal information you have provided to us from your online account at any time, in accordance with the instructions posted on the site, or by emailing us at [email protected]; please include your name and email address when contacting us. You may request that your account information be deleted; however, because we retain records of past transactions for legal and accounting purposes, information associated with past transactions cannot always be deleted, and residual copies may remain in our backups for a limited time.
Your options
From time to time we may send you emails about our products and services. If you do not wish to receive them, you can unsubscribe at any time using the one-click link in every email or by editing your account preferences. Every price-alert email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You also have options regarding cookies, as described below; if you reject cookies, some parts of the site may not function properly.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, consistent with current industry standards, to protect the limited data we hold. Access to your personal information is protected by a password that we store encrypted, and card transactions are handled by our payment processor and financial institutions that receive only the information necessary to authorize your payment. No method of transmission or storage over the Internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you acknowledge that there are security and privacy limitations of the Internet that are beyond our control.
Cookies
A cookie is a small data file that a website stores on your device that can be retrieved later to recognize you and make your use of the site easier and more secure. We set the cookies needed for the site to work, such as session and security cookies. Where analytics is enabled, Microsoft Clarity also sets cookies of its own to tell repeat visits and sessions apart, and Microsoft may set a cookie that it can read on other sites it operates; visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are not served that script and get no such cookie. If you sign in with your Google account, Google sets its own cookies as part of that process. We run no advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but essential cookies are needed for the site to function properly.
Third-party sites
Except as set out in this policy, these provisions apply only to information we collect from you. Other sites accessible through ours have their own privacy policies and data practices. We are not responsible for the policies or practices of third parties, and we encourage you to consult each site’s privacy policy.
Data retention
We keep your account and order information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations. We keep your price-alert email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operation.
International transfers
PickStub is operated from the United States. Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union, with appropriate safeguards in place.
Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on the performance of our contract with you to process your orders, on your consent for price-alert and marketing emails (which you can withdraw at any time), on our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the site, and on legal obligation where we must comply with the law.
Your rights (EEA and UK)
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, request portability, and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email us at [email protected].
Your rights (California)
California residents may request to know, delete, or correct the personal information we hold, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of it. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA and CPRA, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email [email protected].
Public areas and your responsibility
If you voluntarily disclose personal information in any public area of the site, that information may be collected and used by third parties, and this policy does not apply to it. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account information. Please be careful and responsible when online.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with the date below.
