The Metropolitano, in the San Blas district on the eastern side of Madrid, has been Atlético de Madrid's home since 2017. It holds around 70,000 under a single roof that covers every seat, and the stadium has hosted a Champions League final.
The bowl is continuous. The lower tier runs close to the pitch with a gentle rake; the upper tier is steep and high, and in its top rows the players look small even though the view is complete. The lower part of the upper tier along the touchline is the best balance for most visitors. The organised home support gathers in the south end behind the goal.
The covered roof is the key practical difference from many Spanish grounds: no seat is exposed to sun or rain, which is a real advantage in August and on winter nights. Late kick-offs are common, so check the time before planning travel.
The stadium has its own Métro stop, Estadio Metropolitano on line 7, with extra trains on matchdays. Queues at the station can be long after the final whistle, and walking to the next stop is often faster. There are car parks around the stadium for those who drive, but roads are congested before and after matches. PickStub is an independent marketplace and is not affiliated with the stadium or any club that plays there.
