About Liverpool FC

Anfield is one of the most famous grounds in world football, and much of that reputation rests on one stand. The Kop, the single tier behind one goal, is home to the club's most vocal support, and the pre-match singing of the club anthem is the moment many visitors come for. Expansions of the Main Stand and the Anfield Road End have raised capacity to roughly 61,000 without losing the steep, close-to-the-pitch character of the old ground.

Tickets for league matches are sold mainly to season ticket holders and members, with access often allocated by ballot, so very few seats ever reach the open market. Visitors without a membership history rely on resale, and the derby against Everton and matches against title rivals are the most expensive fixtures of the season.

For the view, the upper tiers of the Main Stand along the touchline give the most complete picture of the game. The Kop gives you the atmosphere and the worst angle on the far end of the pitch, which most people who choose it consider a fair trade. Seats in the Anfield Road End behind the other goal are where visiting supporters are usually housed.

Anfield has no railway station on its doorstep. Most supporters walk up from the city centre, which takes around forty minutes, or use the buses that run from the centre on matchdays. A shuttle bus from Sandhills station is the other common option. Street parking around the ground is tightly restricted.
