About Chelsea FC

Stamford Bridge is one of the smaller grounds among England's leading clubs, holding around 40,000, and it sits on a tight plot between the Fulham Road and the railway. That size is the single biggest factor in how tickets work here: demand from members and season ticket holders comfortably exceeds the seats available for most matches, so general sale is rare and resale carries much of the market for visitors.

The ground is made of four separate stands rather than one continuous bowl, which gives it a more traditional feel than the newer stadiums. The Matthew Harding Stand behind one goal and the Shed End behind the other are where the most vocal support gathers. The East and West Stands along the touchlines offer the classic side-on view, with the upper tiers giving the clearest picture of the whole pitch.

Because the stands sit close to the pitch, even seats near the back of the lower tiers feel near the action. The trade-off is that a few seats in the corners and under the overhang of upper tiers have a lower ceiling and a narrower view of the high ball. The seating map shows rows, not overhangs, so it is worth favouring the upper tiers if the full view matters to you.

The usual way in is the District line to Fulham Broadway, a few minutes' walk from the ground. West Brompton and Imperial Wharf are alternatives that avoid the busiest station after the final whistle. Parking near the ground is very limited.
