Aladdin on stage keeps the songs people know from the film and adds several written for the theatre, including material from the original film score that never made the final cut. The through line is unchanged: a street thief, a lamp, and a genie with more personality than anyone else on stage.

The show is carried by the Genie, and the part is written to let the performer work the audience directly.
