Seattle guide

Seattle's venues sit close together for a city of its size, and the downtown core holds most of the large rooms. Theater, touring music, comedy and stadium sports overlap through the year, with a heavier outdoor season when the weather allows.

The Paramount Theatre, the Moore Theatre and the 5th Avenue Theatre anchor the theater and touring calendar, while McCaw Hall and Benaroya Hall carry opera, ballet and orchestra programs. Smaller clubs such as Neumos, the Crocodile and the Showbox cover the club-level tours.

Lumen Field and T-Mobile Park drive the biggest crowd nights, and match days change how the downtown streets move. Check those dates early if you plan to stay within walking distance of the stadium district. Touring shows often land for short runs, so the date you want may not repeat the following week.

Light rail and buses reach the center and the airport, and downtown is walkable for most evening plans. Rain is common outside the summer months, so a waterproof layer matters more than an umbrella in the wind.

Hotels downtown or near the stadium district put most venues within a short walk or ride. Book the anchor event first, then choose a room on a direct rail line, and keep a backup indoor plan for outdoor shows. If your plans span downtown and the stadium district, the walk between them is manageable in dry weather.

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of events does Seattle host?

Touring theater and music, comedy, opera, ballet, orchestra programs and professional sports fill the calendar, with more outdoor events in the drier months.

How should I get around Seattle on a show night?

Light rail and buses reach downtown and the airport, and the center is walkable. For stadium dates, the rail is usually faster than driving and parking.

What should I bring to an outdoor Seattle event?

A waterproof layer, since rain is common outside summer. Umbrellas work less well in wind, and evening temperatures drop near the water.

Where should I stay for a Seattle event weekend?

Downtown or the stadium district puts most venues within a short walk or ride. Pick a hotel near a rail line if you plan to see shows in different neighborhoods.

Is PickStub affiliated with Seattle venues or teams?

No. PickStub is an independent marketplace and has no connection to the venues, teams or producers whose dates are listed.
