Anfield Stadium

Anfield Stadium guide

Anfield, in the north of Liverpool, has been the home of Liverpool Football Club since 1892 and now holds around 61,000 after the rebuilding of the Main Stand and the Anfield Road End. Despite the growth, it remains a ground of separate stands with a steep, close-to-the-pitch feel.

The Kop, a huge single tier behind one goal, is the most famous stand in the ground and home to the most vocal support. The Main Stand along one touchline is the largest, and its upper tier gives the most complete view of the pitch. The Kenny Dalglish Stand on the opposite side is lower and closer. Away supporters are usually seated in the Anfield Road End.

The Kop is about atmosphere rather than view; from the back of the stand the far end of the pitch is distant. The upper Main Stand is the choice for those who want to watch the tactics. Lower-tier seats near the corners can have flat angles on play at the far side.

There is no railway station next to the ground. Supporters walk from the city centre, which takes around forty minutes uphill, take matchday buses from the centre, or use the shuttle bus from Sandhills station. Residents' parking schemes restrict street parking on matchdays. PickStub is an independent marketplace and is not affiliated with the stadium or any club that plays there.
